Overnight oats with almond milk, berries, and chia seeds
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup rolled oats.
- 1 cup almond milk. (or any milk of your choice)
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds.
- 1 tablespoon sweetener. (like honey, maple syrup, or agave; optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract. (optional)
- 1/2 cup mixed berries. (fresh or frozen)
- Toppings: extra berries, nuts, or a drizzle of nut butter (optional)
Method of making:
Add ingredients in a jar or bowl, mix together the rolled oats, almond milk, chia seeds, sweetener, and vanilla extract (if using).
Stir well and make sure everything is well combined. the chia seeds will help thicken the mixture overnight.
Mix berries. If you're using frozen berries, you can add them now or in the morning.
Cover the jar or bowl and refrigerate overnight (or at least 4 hours) to allow the oats to soak and the chia seeds to expand.
In the morning, give it a good stir. If it’s too thick, you can add a splash more almond milk. Top with additional berries, nuts, or nut butter if desired.
