 Avocado Toast With Poached Egg


Ingredients:

  • 1 slice of whole grain bread
  • 1 ripe avocado (about 150g)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp of olive oil (15g)
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Optional: chili flakes or herbs for garnish

Kitchen Tools Needed:

  • Toast maker
  • Small saucepan
  • Fork
  • Plate
  • Spoon

Method of  making:

Toast the slice of whole grain bread until golden brown.

While the bread is toasting, fill a small saucepan with water and bring it to a gentle simmer.

Crack the eggs into a small bowl, then carefully slide them into the simmering water to poach. Allow them to cook for about 3-4 minutes, or until the whites are set but the yolks are still runny.

In a mixing bowl, scoop the avocado flesh and mash it with a fork. Add olive oil, salt, and pepper to taste. Mix until creamy.

Once the toast is ready, spread the mashed avocado generously on top of the toasted bread.

Carefully remove the poached eggs from the water using a slotted spoon and place them on top of the avocado toast.

Sprinkle with chili flakes or herbs if desired and serve immediately.
