Beautiful and delicious yellow rice
- Samba rice 1kg
- Some coconut milk
- 1 Big onion
- 4-5 tablespoons of
butter/margarine
- 1 tablespoon
pepper
- Turmeric 1 1/2 tsp
- 5 cardamom pods
- 5 cloves
- A piece of
cinnamon
- tempering leaf
- Salt powder 1 1/2
tsp
Method of making:
First, wash the rice well and drain the water. Now take a pot in which you can cook rice and put some butter in it.
When the butter is hot, add sliced onion,tempering leaf and curry leaves and fry them.
Next, add cloves, cinnamon and pepper and then fry lightly, add turmeric to it and mix it, and at the same time add rice and mix it well.
Fry the rice about 1 minute and then add coconut milk and mix well.
As soon as the coconut milk is added, increase the heat of the stove and stir the milk so that it does not curdle.
Now when the coconut milk starts boiling, keep the flame on medium and add cardamom to it and add salt according to taste.
Now reduce the flame to medium and cover with a lid and cook the rice, after 8 minutes open and check.
(If the rice grains are raw, turn off the heat, cover the rice with a foil and cook for about 7 minutes.)
Now our coconut milk yellow rice is ready... mmm very healthy and tasty.
Garnish this beautifully and serve...
- Some fried cashew nuts.
- Some fried raisins.
- Some thinly sliced fried onion.
(spread all these on top of the yellow rice and keep a lettuce leaf aside as you like.)
